Take a picture in of what you would like done. Ask the manager if its possible. Don't pick the first place you go to, look around at a few stores and pick the one with the best design quality and price.
I think they could do leopard print. just sand color with brown spots and a gold outline.

you bet they would, more money in their pocket...some even have a selection of their best designs to pic from (my personal fave was a goldfish I could paint really well). Most techs charge a dollar a nail for nail art...sometimes more if it's airbrush.

Look in the yellow pages and stay away from Asian nail shops. The current style, and one of my favorites, is rather short square nails with a natural color. A red dress with dots doesn't need nails to compete with it.

I'm 31 and the only time I'd want hip, vibrant, upbeat stuff at a salon is if I was going out and getting my hair or makeup done for the night. And I never do that. :-)





I like to be pampered and relax while doing so. Even when I was much younger.





Ideally, I'd like something like grapes to eat...something light and not salty. Water with a wedge of lemon or lime and tea would be sufficient for drinks.





I like spas either free standing or within a professional building. I hate spas/salons in strip malls with cell phone shops, etc. If the salon had to be with other businesses, I'd look for a place with an internal hallway entrance instead of the door right off the street. It's quieter and more private.





For music, I like piano, guitar and woodwinds for relaxing. SIRIUS or the Dish Network music channels has a Spa channel that I like.

Be very careful with ';new and unique'; fonts.





Because we have desktop publishing now, we enjoy the variety of fonts and graphics out there. What many people have not learned, though, is that something as harmless as a font can actually keep people from wanting to read your brochure.





Script fonts, for instance, are lovely for engraved invitations, but no good for business use.





And it's actually off-putting to see headlines in something like Old English.





Font size is important too. It's important to have white space to encourage someone to read the brochure. If the panels are crowded and filled with solid type, there's no way for the reader's eye to rest.





Better to stay with the old reliables such as Helvetica (or Arial), Times Roman (or Times New), Century Schoolbook (or Century). Or if you must find a new one, select a simple serif font (such as Times, Century, Garamond, Bookman, etc.)





Print it out when you're done and read it -- see how it feels.

Well I don't know where you live but if it is going to be a busy place you may need to check if operating a business is allowed in your neighborhood and if it is legal to have a business such as that in a basement. If that is not an issue I would try a bright that would not make it feel like a basement. Think of the type ans style of the clients you wish to attract and tailor the decor to them. A white or light color on the ceiling will add the illusion of height. It should be something you will also enjoy since you will be there a lot but ultimately it is the customers who need to feel comfortable and wishing to return. Think of some mural for the walls of maybe a beautiful outdoor scene. If you will have mostly women clients a soft feminine decor would work. Maybe make it look like a scene out of Fashion Week in NYC? Consider installing some good ventilation to remove the various aromas. Good Luck!!

Help with nail salon nail designs?

I am getting my nails done for 4th of July and I want to get a really cool design. Will they have designs for the occasion or can I bring a picture in and ask them to make my nails like the picture? Any websites with 4th of July designs would be helpful.

I know of some techs who do it on the East coast, but not out West though I'm sure that there are some that do. You won't find them in any discount salon, or in a mall nail salon that is for sure. These are highly skilled techs, and doing original Ed Hardy designs by hand takes a lot of patience and skill. Good luck in your search...

Does anybody know how to do designs on your nails without going to the nail salon?

I already know how to give myself french tips. All you have to do is put some tape on your nail and paint the top, but i want more than that. I want to be able to put pretty designs on my nails without having to pay a high price.Does anybody know how to do designs on your nails without going to the nail salon?
why don't you try to do more with the tape besides a straight line for tips? I always liked tipping my fingers, then for my thumbs doing sort of a V coming down and put a rhine stone on the tip. Or paint your nails one color, then find some small stickers like stars or hearts and paint another color over them, then take the sticker off and it would leave the original color as the pattern. Or you could do stripes with tape, too.Does anybody know how to do designs on your nails without going to the nail salon?
i do mine ALL THE TIME only thing you need are those lil bottles of polish wit the tiny brush inside...

(do not use a toothpick it'll ruin the polish..)
after you have painted your nails a solid color and let it dry, put a dab of nail polish on a paper plate then use a toothpick to draw a design on your nail. just dip the toothpick in the polish and get creative. you can do flowers, hearts, polka dots, and more! just be sure to wipe the toothpick clean before dipping it each time... good luck!
